Chase The Dog

One of the projects during my second year at University was to design a character.

I chose Chase, the loveable and loyal hound whose been running around in my doodle books for a good many years now, so I thought I'd finally give him the chance to leap out of the pages and come to life a bit more.

Hopefully you'll be able to understand the story, but for those who don't, I'll explain...

Turn Around Sheets

Part of the project was to include a posed model of our character. I used a mini screw driving kit to add details; mouth, fur, etc.

We also needed to develop a walk cycle and Animatic featuring our character in a scenario that best presents their personality.

The sequence follows Chase as he searches for his owner by tracking his scent. He discovers an item belonging to his owner as well as a footprint trail. But when it suddenly rains the trail begins to fade, and so Chase must hurry before he looses the scent of his owner again.

Finally my friends birthday has been and gone, so I can now post the card I made for her...(she likes birds)...

Dino-Pug!

My friend asked me to draw her friend as a Pug in a Dinosaur costume riding a skateboard...(don't ask me why!?)...But here is the final result.

Yay! My first Blog post!

I thought it would be appropriate to make the first drawing...well...me drawing, as this will be the main function of this blog, to get me in the habit of developing and (hopefully) improving my concept pieces. (Note: This drawing was from so long ago that I no longer have short hair...maybe I'll get around to Photoshopping it...?)

It is my 2013 New Year resolution to post something at least once a month.

(Wonder how long that will last...)
