Winter Photos

Trying to rekindle my creative outlet and love of photography. I woke up one morning to look out into a mist covered field that literally took my breath away. Photos can't always capture the beauty of nature, but I'm sure as hell going to try.

 

 

Gazebra

Trying to push my creature design skills. When I finished this one, I looked at it and had no idea what to call it. It kind of looks like a cross between a Gazelle and a Zebra, so I came up with...Gazebra...genius!

My Little Pony Self

I had a sudden urge to draw myself in pony form...(MLP fan much)...Can't quite decide on a cutie mark yet so for the time being I shall remain a 'blank flank'. I was going to have a pencil or paintbrush or something artistic, but decided that it needed to be at least 20% cooler...any other ideas are welcome :)

Birthday Doodles

Now that Uni is over and done with I find that I'm missing my friends more and more. So I decided to make my ex-housemate a poster encompassing (almost) everything that I associate with her. 

My friend has a cute - if not slightly strange - obsession with owls. So I decided to make her the Queen of Owls :)

Late Night Doodles

I haven't done such a late night in a loooong time....but when you're in the flow you just don't want to stop! As a result, I designed a bunch of characters for a story I've been working on. No doubt there will be more on the way :)

Now Uni is done and dusted, I can finally finish all the doodles I began. Starting with this one! This is dedicated to my friends after hours spent watching MLP. Thanks for the fun memories guys! They will be cherished.

Just Horse'n Around

Chase The Dog

One of the projects during my second year at University was to design a character.

I chose Chase, the loveable and loyal hound whose been running around in my doodle books for a good many years now, so I thought I'd finally give him the chance to leap out of the pages and come to life a bit more.

Hopefully you'll be able to understand the story, but for those who don't, I'll explain...

Turn Around Sheets

Part of the project was to include a posed model of our character. I used a mini screw driving kit to add details; mouth, fur, etc.

We also needed to develop a walk cycle and Animatic featuring our character in a scenario that best presents their personality.

The sequence follows Chase as he searches for his owner by tracking his scent. He discovers an item belonging to his owner as well as a footprint trail. But when it suddenly rains the trail begins to fade, and so Chase must hurry before he looses the scent of his owner again.

Finally my friends birthday has been and gone, so I can now post the card I made for her...(she likes birds)...

Dino-Pug!

My friend asked me to draw her friend as a Pug in a Dinosaur costume riding a skateboard...(don't ask me why!?)...But here is the final result.

Yay! My first Blog post!

I thought it would be appropriate to make the first drawing...well...me drawing, as this will be the main function of this blog, to get me in the habit of developing and (hopefully) improving my concept pieces. (Note: This drawing was from so long ago that I no longer have short hair...maybe I'll get around to Photoshopping it...?)

It is my 2013 New Year resolution to post something at least once a month.

(Wonder how long that will last...)
